Prof. Dr. Kübranur Ünal


She received her undergraduate degree from Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine in 2009. In 2016, she obtained her specialization degree in Medical Biochemistry from Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital. She worked as a Medical Biochemistry Specialist in various state hospitals in Ankara. In 2020, she began her teaching career and was appointed as a full-time faculty member in the Department of Medical Biochemistry at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine.

 

Kübranur Ünal, who received the title of “Professor” in 2026, currently serves as a full-time faculty member at the Faculty of Medicine. She also serves as a Supervisor at the Central Biochemistry Laboratory of Gazi University Health Applications and Research Hospital. Her teaching and training activities encompass undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels, as well as medical specialization students. She has participated in and presented at various national and international workshops, symposiums, and conferences. She has collaborated with researchers from different universities and research hospitals on numerous scientific studies.

 

Kübranur Ünal conducts her scientific research in the field of Traditional and Complementary Medicine (TCM) by writing master’s theses, projects, book chapters, and articles. Her research focus is particularly on cupping therapy and leech therapy (hirudotherapy). She continues to serve as a member of the Ministry of Health’s TCM Scientific and Advisory Commission and the Turkish Health Institute’s TCM Scientific and Advisory Commission.
